#MedComms Day- Pride in Profession
ISMPP is pleased to host the 14th annual global celebration of #MedComms Day 2025!
#MedComms Day is an annual event celebrated by professionals working in medical publications and communications to highlight and raise awareness about their role in healthcare. The day involves a global community of professionals sharing insights into their work. Activities typically include:
- Social Media Campaigns: Participants use the hashtag #MedComms to post about their daily activities, projects, and challenges, giving others a glimpse into their work.
- Networking: It fosters connections among medical publications and communications professionals, both locally and globally.
- Education and Advocacy: The day is used to educate the public and others about the importance of effective medical publications and communications. Watch last year's #MedComms Day ISMPP U free recording on The AI Evolution: Medical Communications in the Digital Age (June 12, 2024).
- Showcasing Work: Teams and individuals highlight their contributions to scientific writing, editing, publications, and healthcare communications.
The initiative was originally created by Peter Llewellyn in 2012 to celebrate the #MedComms profession and to encourage collaboration and sharing among professionals. Each year, participants do their own thing, making the event full of variety and surprises. While it's mainly held on social media using the hashtag #MedComms, many special events such as webinars are held.
